Gaines on a Tear, Hits for Cycle Monday, August 3rd, 2043 The Ballard Beavers topped the Surprise Shockers by a score of 7-2 at Shockers Field today but all the talk was on shortstop Jeremy Gaines. The Ballard star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Gaines went 4-for-4, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 3 RBI and 1 run scored. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Gaines said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in." Jeremy Gaines singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off José Pérez in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
