Crossbeaus End Chieu's Streak Monday, August 31st, 2043 The Crowley Cajuns lost to the Beaumont Crossbeaus 8-2 today at The Target, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Kun Chieu's 24-game hitting streak. The first baseman went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Chieu, we would win the game," Crossbeaus manager António Pineda explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This season Chieu is batting .303 with 1 home run. His totals include 33 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
