No-Hitter for White
Thursday, August 20th, 2043
Wesley White was just plain nasty on the mound today, overpowering the Amarillo Warheads in a complete game no-hitter.
The right-hander used his signature fastball to perfection as the Bethlehem Angel Kitties waltzed to a 9-0 win.
"He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager Nick Hoskins said later.
In a dominant performance, White faced 28 batters in all and finished the game with 12 strikeouts and no walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," White said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."
In 14 starts this season White has recorded a 4-3 record and a 3.18 ERA.
