Costello Hit String Snapped at 23 Tuesday, August 11th, 2043 The Redwood Rhinos pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Esteban Costello hitless in 2 at-bats during the club's 4-0 victory over the Ladue Rams at The Zoo. The disappointing performance ended a 23-game hitting streak for the second baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Costello said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." This year Costello has hit at a .288 clip with 34 RBIs, no home runs and 45 runs scored. |
