Nuevo Mexico's Moreno Stands out in Shutout Thursday, July 2nd, 2043 Clément Moreno shut out the Westwood Sixshooters 9-0 on a 3-hit masterpiece for the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis at Mariachi Band Shell today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Nuevo Mexico skipper Kenny Billings said afterward. Moreno registered 9 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Westwood manager Juan Gusmán after the defeat. In 10 starts this season Moreno has registered a 7-1 record and a 2.03 ERA.
