St. Petersburg Reliever Named PAA #1 Pitcher Thursday, October 1st, 2043 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Lester Broughton, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The St. Petersburg Thunder reliever, 25, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .258 average and walked away with the USPL Double A Pitcher of the Month award for September. Broughton posted a 3-0 mark and a 4.24 ERA in no relief appearances. In 17 innings, he had no saves, 13 strikeouts, and 3 walks. To date Broughton has posted a career 9-5 record with no saves. The 25-year-old has rung up 64 strikeouts, has a 5.60 ERA and has allowed teams to hit .306 against him. |
