Ugly Incident Ends in 2-Game Suspension Tuesday, August 25th, 2043 Bethesda shortstop Jorge Gardella was ejected in the game between the Atoms and Krewe for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Gardella was just as incensed after the game. "These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Gardella said in the locker room after the game. Now Gardella must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Gardella has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 2 games." Gardella has a .239 average and a .333 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 17 hits, 3 home runs and driven in 11 runs. |
