No Late-Season Magic Coming: Marquette Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 19th, 2043 That they came exceptionally close to qualifying for the playoffs will likely provide little solace for fans of the Marquette Miners -- the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. "I don't expect the fans to be happy with us," said Miners center fielder Raleigh Adams. "We're not happy with ourselves." The Miners have missed the playoffs 20 times in their 28 years as a M3L Double A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2040. In the last 10 seasons, the Miners have missed the playoffs 7 times. Marquette has won the 3L AA Championship 6 times in their history. |
