Pride Halt Shimizu's Hit Streak Sunday, June 7th, 2043 The Hartford Pride did something to Yoshiki Shimizu no team had done for the last 25 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Starks, who came away with the 7-4 victory at Stark Stadium. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 22-year-old right fielder said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." This season Shimizu has hit at a .390 clip with 20 RBIs, 3 home runs and 31 runs scored. |
