Disaster Brannon and Tritons Murphy Suspended for Fight
Saturday, August 8th, 2043
Yesterday at Ballpark of Port Royal Michael Brannon and Sean Murphy got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Port Royal Disaster and Jersey City Tritons. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Brannon will have to sit out 4 while Murphy would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
In 74 games this year Brannon has posted a .292 average and put up these numbers: 5 home runs, 38 RBIs and 47 runs scored.
His record this year is 2-6 in 9 starts and Murphy has a 5.27 ERA.
