Hope Dims for Heuvelink's Recovery Saturday, July 25th, 2043 Hartford reliever Victor Heuvelink sustained a torn rotator cuff throwing a pitch in yesterday's game against the Pajaritos. It was only later, at the local hospital, that the severity of the injury became apparent. While the Pride team doctor was confident Heuvelink would make at least a partial recovery, he was less optimistic about his future in baseball. "Professional ballplayers need to be in peak physical condition. Unfortunately, Victor will be affected by this injury for the rest of his life." To date this year Heuvelink has won 1 and lost 1 with a 4.54 ERA, 1 save and 36 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances. |
