Calhoun Smacks 5 Hits for Lakers
Monday, September 21st, 2043
Today at The Tank, Tony Calhoun put on an impressive display.
The Echo Park Lakers second baseman tagged Panama City pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Panama City Piranhas by the score of 10-9.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Calhoun said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Lakers manager was unwilling to offer his second baseman much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.
"Tony told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Jordan Calhoun said.
Tony Calhoun singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
This season Calhoun is hitting at a .279 pace with 1 home run, 33 RBIs and has scored 43 times.
