Playoff hopes of Blaze player Miguel López have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow throwing a pitch in today's game against Myrtle Beach Seahawks. López is expected to miss up to 12 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs.
For the year, López has collected 2 saves in 10 relief appearances. He has also rung up 72 strikeouts and 27 walks in 66 innings while registering a 7.36 ERA and a 4-1 won-lost mark.
