Schroeder Torches Hawks for 5 Hits Tuesday, June 2nd, 2043 Even as a kid, Chandler Schroeder said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At The Shell today, Schroeder showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Huntington Hermit Crabs, helping his team knock off the Laredo Hawks by a score of 5-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Chandler Schroeder singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
