Caterpillars End Bonilla's Streak Friday, July 3rd, 2043 The Columbia River Rats lost to the Grand Forks Caterpillars 7-3 today at Columbia Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Jesús Bonilla's 22-game hitting streak. The third baseman went 0-for-5 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Bonilla, we would win the game," Caterpillars manager Scott Alexander explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year Bonilla has hit at a .310 clip with 28 RBIs, 4 home runs and 32 runs scored. |
