5-Hit Barrage by Holkeri Tuesday, August 11th, 2043 After his 5-hit effort at Pontiac Copperdome was tarnished by Yucca Valley's 9-6 loss to the Pontiac Godfathers, center fielder Ahvo Holkeri told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 19-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Godfathers. "His swing is getting there," said Yellows skipper Christian O'Dell after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ahvo did that to perfection today and we wasted it."
