Coeur Caballero August's #1 Pitcher Tuesday, September 1st, 2043 Alfonso Caballero nailed down August's United States Premier League Pitcher of the Month award today, adding pressure on St. Louis to get a deal done before the 27-year-old becomes a free agent. Caballero seems unfazed by the talk. "We get a deal done or we don't," he told reporters, "I'm not worrying about next year. Worrying about next year isn't what wins awards, you know?" He fashioned a 4-0 record, reeled off 33 strikeouts, worked 33.2 innings and held batters to a .213 average for the month as he posted a 2.14 ERA. This season Caballero has compiled a 9-4 mark with a 3.79 ERA in 19 starts. |
