Rocketeers Take Down Bowties, 6-5
|
The Seattle Rocketeers beat the Buckhead Bowties, 6-5, at Boeing Dome. The Rocketeers got a fine performance from designated hitter Alain Grosjean, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was Dave O'Neil's in relief. His record improves to 11-6. Brenton Jenkins took the loss for Buckhead. At 50-34, the Rocketeers find themselves in second place in the Silver League.
Ethan Duffy was vital part of the Seattle win. He was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the third with one out, Duffy hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rocketeers.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Duffy told the Seattle Gazette.
