Billy Goats Fall to .500 After Loss to Rocketeers
|
The Seattle Rocketeers got a stellar effort from pitcher Virgil Dickerson, helping Seattle score a 4-2 win over the visiting Colorado Billy Goats. Dickerson went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 8-4. Wu-ti Xuan converted his 22nd save in 24 tries.
With runs few and far between, the Rocketeers had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Seattle came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when right fielder Lodd Felton delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Yin-zhen Wu and made the score 3-1, Rocketeers. Felton was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Dickerson.
At 48-30, the Rocketeers have a slim two-game lead in the Silver League.
