Almost There: Boston On Cusp of R2044 Triumph After 5-4 Win
|
The Boston Patriots moved to within one game of the Round 2045 today, downing the Greenville 84s on the road at 84s Field by a score of 5-4. Patriots first baseman Eisse van Opdorp was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. The win gives the Patriots a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2044.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until van Opdorp delivered big-time for Boston, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Dave Lawson. The game-changing hit put the Patriots on top, 5-4.
"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but is a heck of a lot better than - ," van Opdorp said.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Greenville. The scheduled starters for the game are Brian Duncan for Boston and Ignacio Manzanedo for Greenville.
