Vancouver Wins Game in Extras; On Verge of R2045
|
An all-important Game of the Round 2044 went into extra innings at The Dungeon in Halifax, with the Vancouver Grey Wolves eventually emerging on top. Vancouver has Roy Bagnall to thank, after the left fielder went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs in the 6-3 victory. The Grey Wolves are now one game away from the Round 2045, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.
Vancouver used the timely hitting of John Hawley to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Grey Wolves on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hawley said.
