Pivotal Game Goes to Host Stingers, 5-4
|
The Toledo Stingers moved to within one game of the Round 2045 today, downing the visiting Greenville 84s at Pacesetter Park by a score of 5-4. Stingers right fielder Lester Threlfall was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The win gives the Stingers a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2044.
Pedro Serano, who finished 5th in the 3L in extra base hits with 49 in 2039, chipped in for Toledo with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We're happy," Serano told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
Game 5 is set to be played Monday, October 5th, 2043 in Greenville. Slated to start are An Jang-Yop for the Toledo Stingers and Zadock Dinkelmann for the the Greenville 84s.
