Screaming Eagles Hammered by Hierro, Drop Game 5 to Thunder
The St. Petersburg Thunder moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles on the road at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 13-8. Thunder designated hitter António Hierro was named player of the game after he went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The win gives the Thunder a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.

It could have been a different outcome for St. Petersburg, had it not been for John Crosby, the 24-year old catcher . Crosby contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put St. Petersburg up, 9-7.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Crosby. "And not try to do too much."
