Thunder Even With Screaming Eagles After Home Win
The St. Petersburg Thunder and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles will take the PL AA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Thunder beat the Screaming Eagles 3-1 at Baby Thunder Dome to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. St. Petersburg right-hander Lorenzo Carregosa was named player of the game in the win after he threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball.

Had Bill Stickells not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Stickells hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Thunder.

"I felt we were ready to go," said St. Petersburg manager Emílio Sáenz. "Our pregame was pretty good."

Game 5 is set to be played Sunday, September 27th, 2043 at Mercer Island Grounds. Slated to start are Wilbert Gallegos for St. Petersburg and Jeremiah Hartney for Mercer Island.
