In a crucial game, the St. Petersburg Thunder put on their best show, beating the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles by a final score of 11-10 today. Domingo Ramos earned player of the game honors, as he went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. St. Petersburg and Mercer Island are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.

St. Petersburg used the timely hitting of Huang-di Shu to capture the win. The third baseman socked a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Thunder ahead, 6-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Shu, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

The next game is set to be played Thursday, September 24th, 2043 at Baby Thunder Dome. Slated to start are Pedro Arredondo for Mercer Island and Leo Cassidy for St. Petersburg.
