The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Baton Rouge Brass at The Zoo in Syracuse by a score of 3-1. Squirrel Monkeys right-hander Luis Sastre was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Squirrel Monkeys a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 SL AAA Championship.

The Brass had trouble solving Sastre, who surrendered no earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Syracuse manager Todd Hill. "Our pregame was pretty good."
