Nobles Rally Past Humpbacks to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Bakersfield Nobles started the PL AAA Championship in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Alaskan Humpbacks in a walk-off. Bakersfield won 2-1 behind a good day from starter Aldo Ottens. The right-hander threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which gave the Nobles a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-5 series.

Carlos Rivera was the walk-off hero for Bakersfield. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Nobles second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bakersfield manager José Gonzáles said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jerome Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Claudio Gonzáles for Alaskan and Ryan Fry for Bakersfield.
