Twinsburg Breaks Through for First Win in SL R Championship; Now Trails 2-1
|
Already down in the SL R Championship, the Twinsburg Tigers put on their best show, beating the Beaumont Crossbeaus by a final score of 4-2 today. Miguel Aguirre earned player of the game honors, as he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Twinsburg now trails Beaumont 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.
Twinsburg used the bat of Raúl Rosa to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.
"It was a good effort all around," said Rosa.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Target. The scheduled starters for the game are Benjamin Crump for the Twinsburg Tigers and Burian Polyn for the the Beaumont Crossbeaus.
