Road Win Lifts Milton to 2-1 Lead in R1
The Milton Dogfish Head moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds on the road at Dog Park in Ellenburg by a score of 7-2. Dogfish Head right-hander Giovanni Mireles was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Dogfish Head a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 3L AAA Championship.

It could have been a different outcome for Milton, had it not been for Christian Cole, the slick-fielding shortstop . Cole contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Milton up, 3-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cole.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Javier Guillén for the Milton Dogfish Head and James Brandon for the the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds.
