The Kent Comets moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Huntington Hermit Crabs at Fuller Park by a score of 5-3. Comets pitcher Elliot Reid was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Comets a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL A Championship.

Zhao-ji Pan, the Kent catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, Comets. For the game, Pan went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pan.

The next game is scheduled for Friday at The Shell in Huntington. Slated to start are Rich Roberts for Kent and Steve Baker for Huntington.
