3L A Championship Game 1 Victory for Gentry and Put-In-Bay
|
The Put-In-Bay BC started the 3L A Championship in style today, downing the visiting Yucca Valley Yellows at Put-In-Bay Ballpark by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. BC left-hander Josh Gentry was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of shutout ball.
The Yellows had few good swings against Gentry, the left-hander, who threw 89 pitches over 7 innings. He allowed just no runs on 3 hits.
"We'll savor this win," Gentry told the Put-In-Bay Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Kyle Horton for Yucca Valley and Kunimatsu Uchida for Put-In-Bay.
