The San Mateo Dirty Reds faced a tough opponent in Mississippi pitcher Ernesto López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Magnolia Park by a final score of 6-4. López went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Justin Frederick earned the save, his 4th. The Dirty Reds raised their record to 31-29.

San Mateo used the timely hitting of Kawenaula Alohalani to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 6-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Alohalani.
