Almost There: San Mateo On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 5-3 Win

Game was big. So was Travis Morgan.
The San Mateo starter rose to the occasion at Baltimore Grounds today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Dirty Reds to a crucial 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Bullets. Morgan threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs as the Dirty Reds won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
San Mateo used the timely hitting of Walker Ragland to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's a mindset," said Morgan. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
