Not Done Yet: Cleveland Win Late to Narrow Series Deficit to -
|
An all-important Game of the Silver League Championship went into extra innings at Lang Park, with the Cleveland Browns eventually emerging on top. Cleveland has Jhett Larson to thank, after the second baseman went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 in the 9-6 victory. The Browns are now one game away from the Round 2, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.
Cleveland needed the clutch hitting of Alexei Ponikarov to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Browns on top, 9-6. For the game, Ponikarov had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Larson said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."
