Host Patriots Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
Facing elimination, the Nova Scotia Leviathan were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Rod Watts delivered.
At Dunkin Donuts Park, the 28-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Boston Patriots and help the Leviathan close their deficit in the Third League Championship. Watts threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 4-0 Nova Scotia win, striking out 1 and allowing 4 hits. The Leviathan how trail - in the best-of- series.
Watts gave Nova Scotia a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 9 innings.
"I was determined to go the distance," said Watts.
