Gomillion, Baltimore Start Round 1 Strong with Home Win
|
Baltimore left fielder Vicente Gomillion was the key at Baltimore Grounds today, being named player of the game as he powered the Bullets to victory in a critical Game of the Round 1. The Bullets took the 5-4 win over the Cleveland Browns to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the seventh when Gomillion hit a solo home run. It propelled the Bullets into the lead, 5-4.
"I don't care a whit about getting a sweep," Gomillion said. "The only part of it that matters to me is it means we've got a lot of chances to get that last win."
