Voodoo Lose to Knights, 5-3
|
Kingston Township rode a decent outing from starter Chase Sims to victory over the New Orleans Voodoo at Cloverdale Legion Park. The final score was 5-3. Sims got the win, improving to 1-9. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Sims allowed 2 earned runs. Even with the win, the Knights have a dismal 18-38 record.
The Knights grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With two out, Ed Mellor, who is tied for 9th in the SL in home runs with 11, hit a 3-run home run off Labeeb bin Muneer, putting Kingston Township in front, 4-2. For Mellor, it was his 11th home run of the season.
"I liked his command," said Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray. "Chase was throwing strikes."
