Thunder Hawks Win at Northville, 6-4
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Northville Eclipse by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Gabriel Obregón. Obregón went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Thunder Hawks. Lucas van Halteren got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 3. Zack Coffey converted his 4th save in 6 tries.
Ft. Polk South took a 4-3 lead on Obregón's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off John Seawright in the top of the sixth, propelled Ft. Polk South to the win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Obregón told the Ft. Polk South Herald.
Ft. Polk South is now 47-54. Northville is 50-51.
