The Westwood Sixshooters extended their winning streak at Field of Plenty.

The Westwood Sixshooters topped the Providence Pilgrims, 7-4, in USPL Double A action at Field of Plenty. The player of the game was Westwood pitcher and Lehi, Utah native John Sawyer. The winner was Doug Ross in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Teika Suto took the loss.

Westwood used the bat of Earl McCarty to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sixshooters ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," McCarty told the Westwood News. "It's as simple as that."

The 7th-place Pilgrims have dropped 5 straight games.
