|
Olympia right fielder Ramón Vegerano made his presence felt in the 9-3 Ogres triumph over the Ithaca Fighting Imps. Vegerano slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Jude Twitchen picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 2-2. The Ogres improved to 42-50.
Vegerano came through with some timely hitting for Olympia. With the score 2-0 in the top of the third and one down, Vegerano hit a 2-1 knuckle curve for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season made it 5-0, Olympia.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Harris Bailey said.
