The St. Petersburg Thunder got a strong performance from pitcher Lester Broughton, who stymied the Westwood offense en route to a 6-1 win at Sixshooters Stadium. Broughton got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Broughton allowed 1 earned run. St. Petersburg is now 54-37.

St. Petersburg used the bat of Pielgrzym Myslajek to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Thunder ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
