Terry Baker was instrumental in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. The third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis. The 4th-place Mariachis raised their record to 43-39.

Jeff Weber took Jude MacPherson deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Mariachis on top, 5-3. In all, Weber had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Baker. "And not try to do too much."
