Late Rally by Sixshooters Secures Win
|
The Westwood Sixshooters and Olympia Ogres lit up the scoreboard at The Ogre Den.
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Gustavo Palácios, the Olympia Ogres suffered a 11-9 loss to the Westwood Sixshooters. Palácios went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Sixshooters saw their record improve to 31-49.
Westwood used the timely hitting of Edmond Hallewell to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sixshooters on top, 10-9. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Sixshooters manager Juan Gusmán wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
