Thunder Rally For Late Win Over Mariachis
The St. Petersburg Thunder did just enough to sneak past the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 4-3, at Baby Thunder Dome. St. Petersburg catcher David Filmer earned player of the game honors. St. Petersburg reliever Curt Moore was credited with the win, to go to 5-0. Drees de Lijser took the loss for Nuevo Mexico. Their 48-32 record puts the Thunder second in the Premier AA.

St. Petersburg third baseman Jim Rigsby delivered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. Overall, he went 3 for 5, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.

Rigsby described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
