Thunder Hawks Turn Back Northville, 4-2
|
The Northville Eclipse got a superb performance from pitcher Raúl González, but the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks still won the game, 4-2. González was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 4 runs. Jeremy Bearimy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Raúl González was tagged with the loss. Alan Haas was credited with the save for Ft. Polk South, his 2nd of the season.
Tomás Gálvez was a prime factor in the win for the Thunder Hawks. In the bottom of the fourth with one out, the 26-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring double. He was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gálvez.
The 8th-place Thunder Hawks lifted their record to 35-43.
