Thunder Fall Short at Mercer Island
The St. Petersburg Thunder got a superb performance from third baseman Huang-di Shu. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Mercer Island. The Screaming Eagles won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Shu was named the player of the game. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mercer Island reliever Carl Mayes picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. James Fitzgerald was saddled with the loss. Mercer Island leads the Premier AA by 8 games.

Tony Parra was the walk-off hero for Mercer Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Screaming Eagles right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Parra.
