Divided Lose to Rocketeers, 4-3
|
Seattle pitcher Tim Tate did his part in helping his team beat the D.C. Divided, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Tate, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Seattle has now won 8 in a row.
In the top of the first, Mathew Mayo ambushed a full count fastball from César Sandoval and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Seattle a quick 2-0 lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth. "But we decided not to take it."
