Pilgrims Lose Again, 10-2, to Ogres
|
The Olympia Ogres defeated the Providence Pilgrims, 10-2, at The Ogre Den today. Leading the charge for Olympia was second baseman Gin-fan Chong. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tex Owens got the win, improving to 2-8. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The losses continue to mount for Providence, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Ken Francis chipped in for Olympia with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
