Victory Over Eclipse Takes St. Petersburg to 43-24
|
St. Petersburg starter Zhao-hui Li had a strong outing against the Northville Eclipse at Old-Timers Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Li, now 8-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The Thunder own a robust 43-24 mark.
St. Petersburg needed the clutch hitting of Huang-di Shu to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thunder on top, 4-0. For the game, Shu had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Shu attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
