Sea Dogs Suffer 6-3 Loss to Beavers
|
Ballard third baseman Tom Steele made his presence felt in the 6-3 Beavers triumph over the Maine Sea Dogs. Steele was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win was George Gross's in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Anthony Moreno took the loss for Maine. Carl Wilson finished the game for Ballard and earned his 4th save.
Ballard used the clutch hitting of Eli Johnson to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to give the Beavers the lead, 1-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Steele told the Ballard Chronicle.
Ballard is now 46-45, while Maine is 47-44.
